Sewing machines and printing equipment are whirring again in Alamo, after a North Carolina company opened manufacturing operations at 121 East Walnut Street Alamo, TN. Previously this location housed a facility that began production in 1969 and closed in late 2013 for economic reasons.
Alamo Pride LLC, manufactures textile products for the specialty athletic and outdoor markets. Alamo Pride is owned by MOAM Group, Inc. of Stokesdale, NC.
MOAM’s business is based on identifying market segments where US manufacturing has a competitive advantage over production based in China. In Crockett County, Alamo Pride has workers with the right training and a transportation-friendly location that enables Alamo Pride to go toe-to-toe with overseas factories on the specialized goods MOAM produces.
Powell and his business partner, Adam Scherer, founded MOAM Group after working 13 years in global sourcing, where they arranged manufacturing for US companies in factories located in China.
